Dharavi a largest slum in Mumbai (Maharashtra) with area around 2.1 sq I'm(520 acre) having a population of around 10 lakhs.

The economy of the city involved in active informal economy in which numerous household enterprises employ many of the slum residents leather, textiles and pottery products are among the goods made inside Dharavi. The total annual turnover has been estimated at over US$1 billion.

In addition to the traditional pottery and textile industries in Dharavi there is an increasingly large recycling industry, processing recyclable waste from other parts of Mumbai. Recycling in Dharavi is reported to employ approximately 250,000 people. While recycling is a major industry in the neighborhood, it is also reported to be a source of heavy pollution in the area. The district has an estimated 5,000 businesses and 15,000 single-room factories. Two major suburban railways feed into Dharavi, making it an important commuting station for people in the area going to and from work.

Dharavi exports goods around the world.Often these consist of various leather products, jewellery, various accessories, and textiles. Markets for Dharavi's goods include stores in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. The total (and largely informal economy) turnover is estimated to be between US$500 million, over US$650 million per year, to over US$1 billion per year. The per capita income of the residents, depending on estimated population range of 300,000 to about 1 million, ranges between US$500 to US$2,000 per year.(all information taken from Wikipedia).

When lockdown imposed over India on 22 March people around the country gone through several problems which we all have noticed through media but a country like India having less resources have no other option rather than lockdown to mass transmission and to stop community transmission from this new pandemic corona virus. Each place of India has their own significant way of living as we are in India is so rich diversified culture, so as dharavi. The people of dharavi city main problem is sanitation, water, food.

Sanitation as a problem because here in dharavi slum area they are not blessed with inbuild personal toilet for this purpose they have to depends upon bmc toilet house and all knows  how people line up for this, social distancing won't work here and cleanliness is Masha Allah. Did govt come up with any substitution of this problem, well still I haven't found any if there is any measures that need to be applause.

Another problem is water and dharavi have to depends upon again bmc and the timing here for distribution is different in different locations but according to not a big problem people can manage this issue.

Major problem is food and here in dharavi more than half of the population is depends upon daily earning yeah market is open but they can't afford this some blessed soul is distributing food packet to the needy one but this is not enough. Govt agency also helping those underprivileged class which is good but is this system work if you want to know the answer of this question you have to ask that people that is this enough for them or not, they can only present you the clear picture.

I know one thing we are lack in resources is ok what not ok is our strategy. Without proper strategy govt impose lockdown risk whole thing. When some one poor in something you must have to better in something to survive in this world. With increasing rate of corona positive in dharavi area any one can worried who know the city of Mumbai well because it is in centre of the city. Strategy must be made before looking down the topography of such place before imposing lockdown.

Strategy such as their basic needs of sanitation, foods for the poor one, other medical requirements to needy. Strategy to make awareness regarding this virus such as what this new virus is how it transfer what precaution one can take to safe himself/herself from it, what service govt going to provide in this pandemic time but what the govt awareness campaign shows just don't panic word and lots of bullshit like tali and thali and candle, one of the most important thing that misses in whole campaign is fear, why I say fear is because when fear comes from parent or teacher it provide you strength but when fear comes from stranger than it horrified you at this time we need the fear that must had to come from country parents(leader), at this situation half of the work become done when people knows the deapth of the pandemic. They themselves follow each of the guidelines of govt but is they follow? The answer is no. Govt have to take the help of forces to followup the lockdown guideline. Govt lacks in the field of their awareness campaign.

For food govt openup the market with applying measures of social distancing and making mask compulsory for all anyone can say these steps are for privilege class poor can't afford this measures it's really hard for them, also in area like dharavi not every one can afford daily requirements from market as more than half of the population of dharavi area depends on daily earning yes some ngo and other govt agency taking care of this issue but it is not enough at all what govt can do at this situation is to apply a model which work for all model which took care for all a model which fulfill the requirements of all with the measures of social distancing.

As dharavi is declared as containment zone with the rapily growing case govt have to take some smart initiative to tackle the issue, although Maharashtra govt have taken some brilliant step but still they have to think of some other smart approach as this is only the starting time of this pandemic and according to who the second wave might come also it's going to last for longer time.

It's time for all of us to think of every possibilities and to prepare for long time without losing any terms.
